I wanted to write and post some pictures about:-

  • My date with papa – how we enjoyed our Nasi Lemak/Kandaq Royal outing.
  • The kids’ swimming lessons.
  • Mama getting angry at her cucu.
  • Books and magazines that I managed to read.
  • All the food that I’m enjoying in Aloq Staq – Laksa, Nasik Kandaq, Ais Kacang, Tosei, Apom Lenggang, Roti Jala n kuah durian, Somtam, Moi, Mee Abu, Pasembor, Tomyam, Masak Asam Pedas…….
  • Our kenduri doa selamat

It all came to an end when my mobile phone was stolen yesterday. All the pictures taken and the contact numbers were just gone. The phone was a surprise gift from Hubby. It was the most “canggih” phone I’ve ever had. I only managed to enjoy it for a few months before it was taken away from me. How could I be so careless?

Well, what to do? Ayam patuk itik sudu….

Innalillah….Subhanallah…. Mesti ada hikmahnya…

Bengong jap bila tak dak mobile phone nih….hmmm…..

Sacrifice

Eleven people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, ten men and one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to leave because otherwise they were all going to fall.

They weren't able to name that person, until the woman gave a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids or for men in general, and was used to always making sacrifices with little in return.

As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping.

Tipah tertipu……

Whose graduation?

Nana missed her group photo session for we were in Kedah when it happened. So I borrowed the robe for our own photo session. Just as I expected Iman and Atief wanted their fair share of graduation. Whatever!

Ramadhan di Aloq Staq

Ramadhan tahun ini disambut di Aloq Staq. Meriah sangat ! Kami sempat juga balik berbuka di rumah Tok Nab di Guar Chempedak. Kemeriahan berbuka ditambah dengan kehadiran keluarga pakcik dan makcik di sana. Lidah cek buleh prektis cakap utagha balik….

The kids love the antiquity of ending every word with q!!!! Thanks to hubby of course! Ibuaq, naq piq manaq? (Ibu, nak pi mana?). Naq, ikuaq buliaq? (Nak ikut boleh?).

Sabaq…sabaq…

Pontianak

With my kids, never ever mention if you want to bring them somewhere or if someone’s coming IN ADVANCE! They’ll keep asking. When, bila, dah pukul brapa ni ibu, lambat lagi ke? ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!! When the time comes, let’s go kids. When I just couldn’t take it anymore, I’ll warn them, “Jangan bagi Ibu naik angin!!!” Iman will say “Ibu, Ustaz cakap kalau kita banyak angin, kena kentut, mesti angin kurang. Ibu kenala kentut banyak sikit, nanti Ibu tak marah Iman”. Hmmm… kureng asem…!!!!! Should I marah or just senyum kambing.

Hubby did mention about me being a monster-mom in one of his entry. Come to think of it…He’s right. When it comes to yelling and getting angry with the kids, I think even Pontianak will surrender…muahaha.a…….

Anti-“WatUWanniToBe” Pill

Mary Schneider (The Star columnist – But Then Again) wrote about a pill that was created to combat stupidity. She too lamented on how useful this pill would be to our MPs and politicians (nopunsintended) or even us. As for now those scientists are still doing some research and it and may be available to us in the near future. Then someone else will try to invent another…

I would think Anti-Clumsy pill will be suitable for me. Why? Every now and then I will hurt myself (of course unintentionally) be it while walking, cooking or even standing…. There will always be a “lebam” and usually on my legs. Imagine if I do some sport activities… Yeap, I’ve tripped by my own leg…and…gedebuk! You can read about it here. I think hubby will totally agree….or maybe he has other pills in mind…. You never know…

Have you taken any pills lately? Birth control, anti-stress or just panadol….

Imagine living in a true Malaysia Bolehland with Anti-“whatuwannitobe” pill available in the nearest pharmacy.

What EPL?

It all started when my father brought me to Darulaman Stadium to watch Hijau Kuning play. I will always ask him to get me the VIP ticket so that I could watch the players come out from the dressing room and browse some of the cute guys…hehe… I even dated one of them but it only lasted one date for he respected my father too much to carry on with the cinta kucing. Ahaks…

Now, I’m sorry to say that Malaysian football is a disgrace to watch. Its all about politics and the passion is somehow or rather gone with the wind.

Finally the EPL is back. Yesterday we planned our outing so that we’d have the chance to watch the much awaited EPL. Though my team (Man U) will be playing tonite, hubby was eager to watch how his ARSenal performs with their infamous world cup rookie, Theo Walcott, against Villa.

Dah lama aku tak mendengar sumpah seranah yang sekian lama terpendam dlm hati laki aku nih….Mak oi.. berbakul-bakul keluar. Especially when all Villa players were in the box….just defending after their 1 goal lead…hahaha….

P*n***, F****** H**, B***, Bang*** etc….

Now, he’s back to normal again….

Bye World Cup, welcome back EPL.

p/s- how do I come to support Man U? Well, it’s just a tradition passed along in my family from my tokdin to my papa and to my uncles. To make matters worse I was forced to study in Manchester (I’d prefer London but who am I to say) by Papa so that he’ll have the chance to visit Old Trafford when he comes for my graduation. Well planned Papa!. That was the time when Eric Cantona dominated the EPL with his after goal scoring French Bast*** pose. Lurv him lurv him…..

Unofficial Homemaker’s Leave

It all started badly on Friday when Hubby will be away till Wednesday leaving me with the kids… as usual. Then there was this phone call that changed the whole gloomy and boring day. Mama n Papa nak mai ni…..kami sampai haghi Sabtu… malam kot!!!Yeeehaaa !!

As expected, they agreed to baby sit the kids on Sunday. Alhamdulillah. I was presented with a one day leave…..after months of 24-7 job. As such, I agreed to join my resident association’s netball team competing in MPSJ Netball tournament.

6.30 am – Woke up with a big smile. Stared at my jersey ( got beckham’s number…haha…) for about 2 mins to freshen up my sleepy eyes….here we go.

We reached MPSJ at 8ish, jogged around the track and joined the aerobics halfway. We were in Group B and played 7 tiring games. We managed to win the first three games but lost the rest. For the record, all of us are “mak - mak orang” while the other teams mostly had some import players which are either school girls or state/professional players!! They were so fast we just couldn’t match their pace and stamina. All in all, it was fun. I enjoyed myself but only one small thing, the sunburn!!!!

I went back at 2ish. Rested for awhile and went out again to feed my singing stomach with Char Kuey Teow.

The headache that I felt since the third game prompted me to visit a hair salon for a quick hair wash. It was so refreshing!

Next stop was Jusco.

After a minor shopping, I wandered around and almost forgot the ache all over my body as a result of too much “gedik”. By 7pm, I just couldn’t take it. Balik!!

Hubby called to remind me of Formula 1. We were practically laughing on the phone when Alonso had to quit the race while he was leading. Unfortunately Schuey follow suit when it was just 3 laps to go.

At 10.30ish Mama wanted to watch Gon & Gincu!!! Biaq betoi ni…
My brother was a Pak Pacak in the prison cell scene.
No wonder….
Another actor in the making…..
Uwek! Uwek! Geli

lidah….

I need more ice-cream.

I really cherished the time that I had for myself. It’s a recharge, if I may say so…..
Today, life will be back to normal.

Tanglung Festival in Bukit Jalil

Last week we went to Tanglung Festival in Bukit Jalil. We had so much fun. Entry fee was just RM5 per person but what you experienced in there was worth it. I was stunned by the 100m long dragon made from pottery. Then there was the Twin Tower from tiny bottles. I wonder the time required to assemble those things….

Fortunately we found a play area for the kids. All these replicas made them restless. They enjoyed jumping, bouncing and running on the big balloon. I actually wanted to join them

but no adults are allowed. WAAAA…!!!

To yell or not to yell... or just scream....

Kids. One minute they melt your heart, the next thing you know they are jumping on your bed while munching some biscuits. Argh…..!!!

Let’s concentrate on the first one, Iman. I guess his name does carry its own weight. The truth, I must be beriman enough to let an hour pass by without getting mad at him, let alone scream or pinch him.

Yep… it’s not an understatement whatsoever. This had been approved by friends and family. I’m confused. I did overreacted a few times. By then, it’s too late to feel sorry. Pity him. But then again he really tests my patience. I do love him… so much it makes me cry…

I’ve tried all sorts of tactics. It hardly works. Only one thing…. Screammmm…. So that he’ll know that I’m serious. You can call him hyperactive but he’s smart and always cunning. He’s so much into computer games. What should I do? I’m tired of all this screaming and yelling and stuff. I want him to listen to me… obey me as his mother. Is it too much to ask?

He’s just a 7 year old boy who needs attention. Maybe he doesn’t get enough for his sister is just a year younger. What about his needs? I’m trying very best to understand him. The more I tried the harder it gets. Am I a bad mother? Is it normal to feel this way towards him? Whatever happens, he’s still my boy. I’m proud of him, no doubt about that. I know it’ll take years to come before he’ll settle down.

Aloq Staq

Hubby managed to squeeze in our “balik kampung” trip to Kedah in his so called “BZ” schedule. First stop, my grandmother’s house in Guar Chempedak, Gurun. I lived with my Tok Nab when I was 6 till 10 yrs old. Tok Nab still cooks the best gulai and nasik goreng. Tok Nab prepared a room for us with the “seghon” (kelambu) already in place. Reminiscence of childhood days haunts me to sleep.

Next morning, we were served with my favourite “manggis kat belakang rumah tok”. Pak Lon (my uncle) managed to climb the tree after so many years just to treat us. How sweet !!!

While mama was brushing back her skill in “kupaih buah nyiok”, I managed to grab some more manggis. Yummy!!!

Later we ( my parents, Pak Lang n family, PakJang
n family, Pak Nd
ak n family and us ) decided to go for a picnic at titi serong, Yan. It’s a nice waterfall and we had a lovely picnic. The kids had so much fun in the water though it was so cold.
Imagine having lunch ( tok’s cooking ) after a splash in the water. Yummy some more !

On the way back to Guar Chempedak, we drove pass my old school, Sek Keb Langkasuka, Yan. That’s were I went to school when I lived with my Tok Nab. Those were the days when I really enjoyed my school days. The games I used to play were “zero point” and “batu tujuh”. I wonder where my long lost friends could be doing now – Julie, Zeti, Hanida, Juriah. It was Yesterday Once More…..

Padang besar, here we come ! People may say that I’m a cheapskate but what the heck. The view to Padang Besar was spectacular. We passed thru acres and acres of “ladang tebu”. It was an hour journey. Upon reaching there we went separate ways. Hubby looked for his jeans/shirt shop while I went looking around for some handbag, tudung, pants, shoes and blouse. The kids were just happy enough to play with bubbles with tok wan and tok mak around the court yard area. In the end, everybody was happy. Hubby got his jeans n shirts, me got a handbag, corduroy, blouse and some clothes for the kids, Iman got a police toy set, Nana got her bunnies n dolls…some more, Atif got his golf set, Mama bought cheap n delicious durian while papa bought another orchids to add to his collections. Believe it or not we got most of the stuff cheaper by 50 % compared to KL prices. The next day, off to KL.

Aloq Staq, I’ll be back.

Holiday news

We said hello to Atuk in Sepang. Apparently he had gone back to his “tebang pisang n kemas kebun” just two weeks after his stay at IJN. We cannot say anything. He’s just so damn hard core son of a gun………hahaha… as long as he’s happy, its ok. Hope he’s not overdoing it.

Out of boredom, hubby n me tried our skill at declaring war with “nyamuk”. This time we were not that lucky. We only managed to kill a few. Our record is about 50. Will try again the next time we cross each others’ path. So long…. Suckerrrrrrrrrrr……

Sadly, yesterday we sold our Avanza. She had contributed so much to us. Nevertheless, life goes on. All the best with your new family. Sob! Sob! Will get another Toyota in the near future. Hmmm….

Was practicing netball few days ago when suddenly *&^%%^^%&*. Feel on my face…flat on the court. OUCH!!! Luckily I’m still pretty… its just my mouth. Its gonna be fine in a few more days. Can't smile that wide now though…ohhhh… still hurts.

Why women luv World Cup

There have been endless stories about how the World Cup is the worst time for women. That a lot of women go grey because men take the excuse to spend time with the "other woman". Well let me prove that this stupid theory is totally absurd! We (the women of course) should teach them a lesson on how we felt when they drooled watching Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss this and that.

You don't find many men on the streets of our city who are built like those world cup fellows. Not to mention the tall, strong, handsome, rich, famous, and a couple of them fairly intelligent. This World Cup will go down as the most painful for men in a long time. I can’t wait till the players take off their shirts in celebration after they have scored. This action reveals well-chiseled bodies with fabulous abdomens. Man, this is what you call “the man”. Even with their shirts on, the rippling thighs alone and surge of speed at which these players perform is overwhelming.

I suspect very few men dare move about even in their homes bare chest during this season because they are afraid - or know - that their better halves are making comparisons. I have noticed that the most hysterical screams during this World Cup have come from women. I guess this is because they get two shows for the price of one. They watch the best game in the planet, and get to watch the longest running male beauty pageant as a bonus.

Let’s leave the Brazilian team to the men. The players only know how to dance with the ball. Let the men look at their feet. Now, we on the other hand, should focus on the Italian, Spanish, Portugal and other teams that have a bunch of models playing good football. Enjoy the mesmerizing charm of Casillas, Totti, Raul, Christiano Ronaldo, Del Piero, Nesta, Ilhan Mansiz, Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi and argh.. too many to mention.

So girlzz, enjoy!

Weekend issues

My beloved parents came down from Kedah to attend some weddings during the weekend.

As usual, the kids got new set of clothes n a pair of sunglass each.
On Saturday, we went to Bandar Baru Bangi wedding. The salad was nice. After that off to IJN to visit my father in-law. Sadly kids are only allowed on Saturday n Sunday at 4pm onwards so the kids had to wait downstairs.

Then on Sunday, another wedding at Gombak. My lovely princess was so eager to pose with the bride. The boys r runnnin around...can't wait to go back.

After that, we visited Atuk at IJN. This time around, they managed to see Atuk. Atuk is still recovering. Insyaallah, he'll be discharged in a few days.

It's barber time!!! Usually Atief will try to avoid his monthly haircut by Ayah. Maybe he's afraid of the machinery/the sound/the shake.... To make matters worst, he ate his own hair! By hook or by crook Ayah had to finish up as quickly as possible. Here comes Si Botak dari Gunung Keriang!
